okay I'll bring us back to order here uh coming out of recess from our lunch break we've got uh some more committee meetings this afternoon the first one is public health safety Justice and equity and that is chaired by council member Holly hman thank you council president today we have one agenda item uh I am joined by council members Stone and Williams it's a agenda Bill 24216 an interlocal agreement for First Response emergency Medical Services the city has been a part of countywide a countywide agreement between watcom County and all fire service agencies for providing first response to emergency medical incidents the agreement confirms our commitment to provide First Response in basic life support services also known as BLS in our service area for providing those Services the County agrees to pay for all EMS related dispatch fees provide a countywide report writing record management system system and funding to support BLS Services the previous agreement contract number 218- 0114 expired at the end of 2023 the new agreement is retroactive to January of 2024 and will run through December of 2029 uh the same lifespan uh as the countywide EMS lby and here to present we've got assistant fire chief assistant fire chief David pic I thank you council members I think the memo does a pretty good job of explaining itself and those of you on the committee should be familiar with the intent of this contract the one thing I do want to point out um the current countywide EMS Levy is
actually runs through uh 23 through 28 so this contract is a is a year behind it's still a six-year contract but that was done intentionally to watch the EMS Levy successfully pass then we can readdress this contract into the future committee members okay we have uh a motion on the table any further discussion seeing none all in favor say I I I okay it's quick thank you uh and with that end of committee okay thank you and we'll need to take a break here until 1:0 uh for our next committee and that is the uh community and economic development committee and that's going to be chaired by council member jce cotton we'll get to there uh at one time
